What is Hijacker?
Hijacker is a program able to hijack and redirect Internet performance to interrupt normal use of web browser engines. Hijackers usually block popular search result, redirect sites to its own pages, reset browser settings. This threat is commonly used to achieve commercial purpose of products promotion, but mainly for rogue programs.
What is Adware?
Adware is a program that creates pop-ups messages or advertisements on the computer. Not all adware is necessarily regarded as malware, for some free legitimate programs also display ads in order to generate revenue. As long as the information is provided up front then they are generally not considered malware. Malware adware hits you with numerous ads, maybe coming along with hijacker features, and the ads are usually for untrue promotions.
